The client sought a solution that would allow homeowners and renovators to connect on a single platform, enabling homeowners to visualize post-renovation outcomes and obtain quotes.


Problem

Previously, the client had to be physically present at venues where homeowners and renovators met, resulting in issues with uniform pricing.

Homeowners often changed their minds about renovations, leading to a 40% turndown rate.

This caused revenue losses, as site visits for renovators cost between $200-$300 on average.

Additionally, many homeowners were merely seeking quotes, incurring unnecessary costs and time for the business and renovators.

Discovering renovators was also challenging for homeowners, as credentials and past work were not recorded online.

A major challenge was deriving renovation costs. The client wanted a platform where users could view post-renovation visuals of their property. problem


Our Approach

We developed functional iOS and Android apps that enabled homeowners to discover renovators and obtain quotes on the same platform.

An AR/VR-enabled app was created to allow homeowners to capture the renovation area.

The app calculated the area to be renovated and provided cost estimations automatically, eliminating the need for exact measurements.

The AR/VR component allowed homeowners to visualize the post-renovation look of their property.

Renovators could log in, view the captured images, and digitally renovate them using the app, providing homeowners with a real-time view of the property post-renovation.

This eliminated the hassle of site visits and provided quotes from the comfort of their homes.


Benefits

The client built a customer base of around 80K due to uniform pricing. The dropout rate for renovation projects decreased to just 10% after a renovator visited a property.

Revenue losses from unqualified leads were nullified, saving $200-$300 per site visit.

A subscription model was introduced, allowing users to view post-renovation visuals and make informed decisions.

An online renovator hiring model was implemented, where renovators provided complete floor plans and post-renovation visuals.

The client enjoyed a 50% increase in revenue.
