CarWale, founded in 2005, provides an online marketplace for Indian customers to buy and sell used cars. The mission of CarWale is to help customers make informed decisions when choosing the right car at the right time from the right partner.

CarWale has served more than 65 million Indian consumers in a one-year span. In 2009, the company began offering free car consultations to potential customers and has been a part of CarTrade Tech since 2016.

Project Details

Carwale reached out to Bigoh to cater out there development needs, they were looking for an IT staff outsourcing company that can serve them by being a technical arm for them.

Problem

• Carwale wanted to launch an app in an IT ecosystem, they had a dedicated Business and Functional Team but were lacking in IT resources.
• Client needed to quickly hire additional help to implement the new projects in the pipeline to improve the whole transition among the buyer and seller, time to market was critical.
• Client went with a process of internal hiring but were dealing with No-shows and cancellation rate of around 90 % when they were trying to close the open positions.
• They needed to quickly augment their technical staff to implement new projects in the pipeline and required additional tech members for short-term development projects.

Our Approach

• BigOhTech provided qualified IT talent as per CarWale’s project requirements.
• We scheduled technical discussions with trained internal candidates from BigOhTech to ensure the best fit for CarWale.
• Bigoh signed a short term duration contract initially on a 1 month trial phase only only but the engagement turned out to be fruitful and eventually got extended for a duration of 1.5 years.
• Final round interview was conducted keeping the key personnel from Carwale in the loop and there was 95 percent selection rate of the resources presented by Bigoh.
• A total of 28 resources were deployed, including 14 iOS, 2 iOS Tech Lead, 1 Android Tech Lead, 1 Engineering Manager.
